Unanimous selection

Norski pitcher Taylor Shaw was a unanimous All-Badger North Conference pick.

The DeForest prep softball team continued its dominating run in the Badger North Conference with its sixth straight title.

The Norskies claimed another crown after going a perfect 14-0.

Portage was a distant second with a 10-4 Badger North record, followed by Waunakee (9-5), Mount Horeb (6-8), Baraboo (6-8), Beaver Dam (5-9), Reedsburg (5-9) and Sauk Prairie (1-13).

For their effort, the Lady Norskies had nine players named All-Badger North Conference.

DeForest led the conference with four first-team selections.

Norski seniors Cammi Riemer (catcher) and Taylor Shaw (pitcher) were the only Badger North players to earn unanimous first-team honors.

Riemer was also a unanimous pick last season. She earned second-team all-conference as a sophomore.

It was the first all-conference recognition for Shaw.

Also earning first-team honors for DeForest were junior outfielder Taylor Von Behren and junior shortstop/pitcher Taylor Tschumper.

Tschumper earned first-team accolades for the third time in her career.

The final spots on the first team went to Baraboo’s Jade Pachem (Jr., shortstop), Beaver Dam’s Grace Scharfenberg (Sr., third base), Mount Horeb’s Jadyn Holman (Sr., pitcher/first base), Portage’s duo of Joia Simonson (Sr., shortstop/pitcher) and Brianna Brandner (Jr., center field), Reedsburg’s Mallory Stingley (Sr., catcher) and Waunakee’s tandem of Trista Ripp (Jr., center field) and Caitlyn Kesilewski (Sr., shortstop).

The Lady Norskies also led the Badger North with three second-team selections. They had senior second baseman Kaylee Ramirez, sophomore third baseman/pitcher Jordan Marty and senior outfielder Aleah Grundahl recognized.

Ramirez was an honorable mention selection last season, while Marty and Grundahl were recognized for the first time.

Rounding out the second team was Baraboo’s Paige Lewison (Fr., outfield), Beaver Dam’s Haylee Kasuboski (Sr., catcher/outfield), Mount Horeb’s Ashley Lange (Sr., shortstop), Portage’s Olivia Limmex (Sr., outfield), Reedsburg’s Melissa Dietz (Fr., third base), Sauk Prairie’s Olivia Joyce (So., first base) and Waunakee’s duo of Avery Lehr (Jr., third base) and Ally Ronk (Sr., pitcher).

The Norskies had senior Julia Winters and sophomore Kylee Jansen named honorable mention all-conference. It is the second straight year Winters has been tagged honorable mention, while Jansen was recognized for the first time.

The honorable mention list also included Baraboo senior Addie Filus and sophomore Emma Crary, Beaver Dam juniors Grace Madeiros and Bre Krenz, Mount Horeb junior Natalie O’Connell and sophomore Marissa Rumler, Portage junior Anna Kratz and freshman Sydni Kratz, Reedsburg juniors Tresajo Koopmeiners and Jordann Meinhardt, Sauk Prairie senior Regin Suchla and sophomore Macy McIntyre and Waunakee senior Lexi Ripp and sophomore Callie Kesilewski.
