Michelle Lawrie was recently introduced as the Village of DeForest’s new community development director. She officially started in her position Monday, April 1.

Michelle Lawrie is the Village of DeForest’s new Community Development Director. Lawrie officially began her position on Monday, April 1.

Lawrie has 20 years of experience in the field of Economic Development. Most recently, she worked as director of economic development for the City of Goodyear, Arizona.

In 2018, Lawrie relocated to Wisconsin with her husband, who is originally from the state.

“I am excited to be representing DeForest and enhancing economic opportunity for the community,” said Lawrie. “With its proximity to Madison, its pro-business environment, and wonderful business and residential communities, DeForest is poised for quality growth.”

“Michelle is well regarded for her efforts in Arizona,” said Village President Judd Blau. “We are happy to welcome her to DeForest and look forward to her continued success in our community.”
