It’s time for sliders and pie, brats and beer, funnel cakes and cotton candy. The annual Lake Mills Town and Country Days will be June 27-30 at Commons Park.

The Sons of the American Legion Squadron 67 will host live music in the beer tent on Thursday, June 27 Jake’s Room will perform 7-10 p.m. Jake’s Room is made up of Lake Mills natives including Nick Anderson-vocals, guitar; Logan Severson vocals, guitar; Jake Anderson drums; Carl Koeppel bass, vocals and Jared Paulowske guitar.

On Friday, June 28 Up All Night will hit the stage from 8 p.m. to midnight. Milwaukee’s party band is described as a high energy group playing the best party music spanning seven decades. Band members include Kaleigh and Holly on lead vocals, Eliot on guitar, Chris on bass and Allen on drums.

Saturday, June 29 the tent will be open from 11 a.m. to 1 a.m., Smart Mouth will perform 12:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. The new southeastern Wisconsin cover band solely plays hits from the 2000s. The band targets 21 to 31-year-olds. The band is made up of Jeff Jost, manager and bass; Jake Charleston, guitarist and tech guy and vocalists Austin Riche, 22, Ashley Patin, 24, and Hannah Jost, 24, and drummer Eric Bird.

Lake Mills favorite Cherry Pie will take the stage from 8 p.m. to midnight on Saturday. The band plays the sounds of 80s rock and rock anthems from the 70s. They have more than 15 years of experience on the stage.

On Sunday, Aztalan’s Paul Filipowicz will perform from 1 to 4 p.m. Filipowicz is a Chicago born singer, songwriter, harmonica player and guitarist who has 30 years of fronting his own band.

He learned about the blues in the early 1960s while listening to a radio station from Tulsa, Okla. In the middle 1960s he heard live blues while waiting outside clubs in Chicago.

Filipowicz has won numerous awards including the Madison Area Music Awards in 2005 and 2006 and “Happy to Have the Blues Award for the Best Dressed male in 2013. In addition, Filipowicz was elected to the Blues Hall of Fame in 2015. He has seven CD’s.

The beer tent will be for those 21 and over. There will be a $5 cover charge those days and times. Military personnel with ID will be admitted free.

The carnival rides and midway will be downtown all weekend long. Tickets are for sale in advance through June 28 at the Lake Mills Leader office Monday-Friday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The cost for six tickets will be $12. Advanced tickets are one ride per ticket. Tickets purchased at the park will cost three and four tickets. A portion of the proceeds of advanced tickets goes to the Lake Mills American Legion Post 67. Checks may be made to the American Legion. Wristbands are only for sale at the festival by the carnival. The cost is $20 per session.

The annual Town and Country Days parade will take place Saturday, June 29 at 10:30 a.m. The route will start at CP Avenue and travel down Lake Street to Madison Street to North Main Street ending at Prospect Street.

After the parade the Lake Mills FFA will sell barbeque pork sandwiches and sandwich plates in the park.

The 30th annual Optimist Club Big Wheel Race will take place after the parade in the Leader Building parking lot.
