In addition to the popular summer programs offered for children and teens, the L.D. Fargo Library offers a special program for those 18 and over which serves to encourage reading while promoting literacy within the area.

Each person who turns in four or more simple ‘review’ forms of books they have listened to or read, from now through Aug. 1, will have $10 donated in their honor by the Friends of the L.D. Fargo Library to the Jefferson County Literacy Council which aims to promote general literacy within Jefferson County. This popular program is a “win” for all. In addition to earning a donation to the JCLC, participants have an opportunity to enter a drawing to receive one of four prize bags which will be awarded at the end of the program.

Last year, 40 participants completed the program requirements, and $400 was donated to the JCLC by the Friends of the Library. Everyone is invited to stop by the front desk to pick up forms and enjoy some free summer entertainment while supporting libraries and literacy in the local community. Those who don’t already have a library card, can sign up for one as well.

The L.D. Fargo Public Library is located at 120 E. Madison St., Lake Mills. For more information, call 920-648-2166 or
