After losing on a walk-off in the 12th inning of the first game in a doubleheader against the Albion Tigers, the Lake Mills Grays gave up 13 runs in the first inning of the second game. The Grays lost 8-7 in the first game against Albion and were defeated, 17-0, in the second game of a Home Talent Sunday League doubleheader at Albion Park in Edgerton on Sunday. Lake Mills scored four runs in the eighth inning to take a 6-5 lead over Albion, but the Tigers responded with a tying run in the bottom of the frame. The Grays went ahead again in the ninth, but Albion responded with a tying run.
Jack Nett was 3-for-7 in the lead-off spot for the Grays with two RBIs. Nick Carpenter started on the mound for Lake Mills and struck out 10 batters while giving up two walks and six hits in six innings. Darren Strasburg pitched the remainder of the game and was hooked with the loss.
In the second game, the most positive note was that Nett was 3-for-3. The Grays had seven hits and never had a runner reach third base.
Lake Mills (0-7) will continue its Sunday League schedule on the road against McFarland (2-4) on Sunday at 1 p.m.
