Donald W. Splitter

Donald W. Splitter, 88, Lake Mills, formerly of Edgerton passed away on Saturday, June 8, 2019, at Brook Gardens Place in Lake Mills.

He was born on July 26, 1930 in Edgerton, the son of the late William and Wilma (Fielder) Splitter.

Don served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

He married Mildred Heller of Edgerton on Aug. 15, 1962 in Edgerton. She died on Dec. 13, 2013.

Don had been employed by General Motors in Janesville until his retirement.

He had been a resident of Lake Mills for the past 4 ½ years.

Don was a member of St. John’s German Lutheran Church in Edgerton, the Edgerton VFW Club of which he was a past commander and member of the firing squad and life member of the Cooties.

He enjoyed traveling and many day trips.

Survivors include a son, David (Patricia) Hedden of Racine; two daughters, Diana (Peter) Ebbott of Deerfield, Anna (Robert) Hoyt of Lake Mills; five grandchildren, Lori Gross, Michael (Sandra) Ebbott, Chad Hedden, Brent Hedden, Craig (Julie) Zinda; 10 great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

Also preceding in death was a daughter, Sandra Kay Zinda.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, June 12, 2019, at 11 a.m. in the Lake Mills Moravian Church with the Rev. David Sobek officiating.

Burial with military graveside rites were held at the Fassett Cemetery in Edgerton.

Visitation was Wednesday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
