Hunt: In support of artificial turf
Raising $800,000 for new artificial turf on Lodi’s football field would seem nearly impossible. Until it is known the Sauk-Prairie Bar Buddies raised $250,000 in a raffle held Sept. 17. So, it is possible to raise major money locally, it just depends on the right formula and perhaps multiple options. Lodi Bar Buddies, which provides taxi-like rides home from bars, began as a branch of Sauk Prairie.
This is one of many good causes. Right now the Lodi area is looking at a new fire station along with the high school’s artificial turf.
It is a personal decision which of the many “good causes” people contribute to. Contributions are not necessarily money. People could contribute their time, goods or services to these causes. The football field will need site preparation for artificial turf and a new fire station will have many needs. The contractors for these projects should be flexible to allow local contributions to help these projects, their cost and add meaning to the community (“Lodi Pride”).
Get behind these local causes with any contribution possible.
