Lodi’s Jayden Kolinski slides into home against Mount Horeb.

The Lodi softball team entered last week with a little momentum after winning four of its previous six games, but they were not able to carry it over. The Blue Devils dropped four games last week.

On May 6, the Lady Blue Devils dropped a 4-3 non-conference heartbreaker to visiting Mount Horeb.

In Capitol North action on May 7, host Lakeside Lutheran thwarted the Blue Devils 13-4.

Lodi dropped another conference game last Friday, as host Lake Mills thwarted the Blue Devils 8-5.

The Lady Blue Devils concluded the week with a 5-2 non-conference loss to host Markesan on Saturday.

Lodi is now 6-14 overall and 1-8 in the Capitol North.

The Lady Blue Devils will now get ready for the WIAA Division 2 postseason. They earned the sixth seed in the regional and will play at third-seeded McFarland on May 21.

The Blue Devils jumped out to a 3-0 lead, but were unable to hold on.

Lodi got going with two runs in the bottom of the first inning. Jayden Kolinski and Emma Krumpen both scored on wild pitches.

Krumpen laid down a squeeze bunt to score Kolinski and put Lodi up 3-0 in the bottom of the third.

Mount Horeb started their comeback with runs in the fifth and sixth frames and then completed it with two runs in the top of the seventh.

Lodi had the tying run on first base when the game ended with back-to-back strikeouts.

Kolinski, Krumpen and Olivia Kurt had the only hits for the Blue Devils.

Kolinski pitched all seven innings and had 10 strikeouts and a walk.

Lakeside Lutheran scored in all six of its at bats and cruised to the win.

The Warriors opened with two runs in the bottom of the first inning, but Lodi took its only lead with a three-run rally in the top of the second.

Hannah Wilkes opened the scoring for Lodi with an RBI single. Dylann Harrrington scored on a wild pitch, while the third run came home on an error.

The lead didn’t last long, as the Warriors scored two runs in the bottom of the second.

Lakeside Lutheran blew the game open with a six-run outburst in the bottom of the fourth.

Lodi’s scored its final run in the top of the sixth on an error.

Wilkes led the Blue Devils with two hits.

Kolinski and Adrianna Lee both pitched for Lodi and combined for three strikeouts and two walks.

The Lady Blue Devils fell behind 3-0 and fell short in a late rally against the L-Cats.

Lodi cut the deficit to 3-2 after plating a pair of runs on a double by Krumpen in the top of the third inning.

Lake Mills answered with three runs in the bottom of the third. They added runs in the fourth and fifth frames to go up 8-2.

The Lady Blue Devils made things interesting with a three-run rally in the top of the sixth. Harrington and Katie Stoltenberg both had RBI doubles, while Katie Breunig added a run-scoring bunt single.

Krumpen, Harrington and Stoltenberg each had two hits for Lodi.

Kolinski and Krumpen combined for five strikeouts and five walks in the pitching circle.

Markesan used a four-run second inning to propel itself to the non-conference victory. It added a run in the bottom of the fourth.

Lodi managed runs in the top of the fifth and seventh frames.

Adrianna Lee stole home in the fifth, while Bailey Schroeder had a run-scoring grounder in the seventh.

Rylee Schneider and Lee had the only hits for Lodi.

Kolinski went the distance in the pitcher’s circle. She had 10 strikeouts and three walks.
