Arlington Prairie Producers 4-H Club, formed by students in the Lodi, Poynette and Arlington areas, won first place and other honors in the Columbia County 4-H Drama Festival.

The Drama Festival was held Saturday, Jan. 7, at the Portage Center for the Arts. Three 4-H clubs performed.

Arlington Prairie Producers 4-H Club won a blue first place ribbon, two club awards -- “Best Make-Up” and “Outstanding Total Effect” plus the Columbia County 4-H Drama Festival Traveling Trophy. The 4-H club performed the play “Snow White”, directed by 4-H volunteer leader, RaeLyn Parker and assisted by youth directors Logan Bahr, Mara Kolberg, Mira Parker and Medora Richards as well as parents and grandparents.

Dekorra Rocketeers 4-H Club performed “Two of a Kind” and received a blue first place ribbon. The group received the club award for “Best Teamwork” and “Best Costumes.” This play was directed by Janel Savich with assistance from Pamela Wentz.

“The Trial of Gold E. Locks” was performed by North Scott 4-H Club and received a blue first place ribbon as well. The group also received the club awards for “Best Set” and “Best Props.” The play was directed by Dawn Ballweg with assistance from Emily Bowman.

There were nearly 40 4-H members involved in the Columbia County 4-H Drama Festival this year. Special recognition was given to the following individuals for their performances:

• Best Actor: Logan Bahr, Arlington Prairie Producers

• Runner-up Best Actor: Tristan Brunt, North Scott

• Best Actress: Lexie Stark, Dekorra Rocketeers

• Runner-up Best Actress: Madelyn Chapman, North Scott

• Best Supporting Actor: Alex Bowman, North Scott

• Best Supporting Actress: Anna Davidson, North Scott

• Best Narrator: Mara Kohlberg, Arlington Prairie Producers

• Most Believable Character: Mira Parker, Arlington Prairie Producers

• Funniest Character: Medora Richards, Arlington Prairie Producers

• Outstanding Performance: Sophia Brunt, North Scott; Peytyn Kolberg, Arlington Prairie Producers; Charlene

• Wendt, North Scott; Brady Wentz, Dekorra Rocketeers; and Ella Wentz, Dekorra Rocketeers
