Alkar-Rapidpak-MP Equipment, Inc, a thermal processing company located at 932 Development Drive in Lodi, recently appointed Tim Moskal as president.

According to Moskal, his family started Alkar in the late 1950’s and moved the business to Lodi from Chicago in 1962.

“I’ve worked here for a long time,” Moskal said. “I grew up in the business and started going into meat plants when I was about 7 years old.”

He began his adult career in the meat processing industry as co-founder of Vectors of Madison, and previously attended the University of Tennessee and the University of North Carolina. Moskal majored in Mechanical Engineering while in college.

In July 1989, he joined the Alkar sales department as National Sales Manager. In 1999, Moskal was promoted to Director of Alkar Sales. But in 2006, Moskal left to pursue other interests.

He didn’t stay away for long however, as in October 2008, Moskal returned to the company as Vice President of Alkar Sales and stayed in the position for eight years until his appointment as company president.

Moskal said as president, he wants to maintain Alkar’s vision – to remain number one in the market and be a technology leader.

He also said the company is currently working on several “revolutionary” technologies, and is always providing new products – chilling, cooking and thermal processing equipment – to maintain Alkar’s position as one of the largest suppliers in the world.
