Editor intro photo

Ryan Broege

Ryan Broege assumed managing editor duties at the Lodi Enterprise/Poynette Press on June 12.

He was editor of the Brodhead Independent-Register for nearly a year, covering agriculture, courts, police, local politics and economic development, among other issues.

Broege grew up south of Janesville, Wis., in LaPrairie township, working on farms and active in 4-H and FFA. He graduated from UW-Platteville in 2012, earning a degree in professional writing and spending a couple years with the school paper, including one as news editor.

Broege has worked in a number of fields, from milking cows to packing boxes to filing legal documents, but feels right at home working in journalism.

Over the next few weeks and months, Broege hopes to become a familiar face in both Poynette and Lodi - at government meetings, school and community events, and around the proverbial corner. With that trust, eventually, well-earned, Broege hopes to tell the stories this community wishes to tell, and needs to hear.

Broege believes his first job as a journalist is to listen, and will be tending to that primary responsibility as he gains his feet over the coming weeks. He is thankful to all who take the time to read this paper, both physically and online, and is also grateful for the opportunity to be of service of this community.

Reach out to Broege at his office at 608-729-3366, on his work cell is 608-712-1383, or by stopping by the Lodi Enterprise/Poynette Press office at 105 S. Main St., in Lodi.
