The Lodi Police Blotter is comprised of information provided by the Lodi Police Department. Individuals named in the police blotter are presumed to be innocent until proven guilty in court.

• Sept. 15 2:53 p.m. – Lodi Police stopped a vehicle on Corner Street and Elm Street. Collin L. Olson, 47, Madison, was cited for speeding, 15 over the speed limit. 

• Sept. 15 5:08 p.m. – Lodi Police stopped a vehicle on Sauk Street at Fieldstone Drive. Ashley E. Harrell, 24, city of Lodi, was issued a verbal warning for speeding and cited for not wearing seatbelt. 

• Sept. 15 12:16 p.m. – Lodi Police stopped a vehicle on Corner Street at Elm Street. Kathryn M. Dupee, 27, Middleton, was cited for speeding, 15 over the speed limit.

• Sept. 14 10:03 p.m. – Lodi Police responded to a vehicle accident resulting in property damage on the 400 block of Sauk Street. Adam M. R. Schmelling, 26, Madison, was travelling eastbound on Sauk Street when he came across an unoccupied car legally parked in front of 413 Sauk Street owned by female, 38, Madison. As Schmelling attempted to answer his cell phone, his vehicle’s passenger front side struck the other vehicle’s driver’s side, causing severe damage to both vehicles.  Schmelling’s vehicle came to rest 50 feet from initial impact, while the parked unattended vehicle came to rest 10 feet from impact location. Schmelling was cited for inattentive driving. 

• Sept. 16 10:21 a.m. – Delayed report of a gas drive-off on Sept. 5 on the 200 block of N. Main Street. A male subject, 48, drove off without paying after filling up $20 worth of gas. The male subject was contacted and warned that if he does not pay, he will be cited and must also pay restitution. 

• Sept. 17 9:21 p.m. – Vehicle stop on N. Main Street at Gay Street. Carissa S. Brown, 28, town of Lodi, received citations for operating after revocation, sixth offense;  possession of drug paraphernalia; possession of a non-controlled substance; and non-registration of a vehicle. Brown was transported to Columbia County jail, and later posted bond. Brown will appear in court at later date. 

• Sept. 18 1:00 p.m. – Delayed report of a gas drive-off on Sept. 13. 9:08 a.m. on the 200 block of N. Main Street. A male subject, 49, Portage, was contacted and paid for the $62 worth of gas. 

• Sept. 18 1:01 p.m. – Report of a gas drive-off on 200 block of North Main Street at 12:34 p.m. A male subject, 49, city of Lodi, was contacted and paid the store for the $25 worth of gas. 

• Sept. 18 and 19 – Lodi Police issued parking tickets on a vehicle that was parked on Washington Avenue for two days, in violation of 24-hour parking. Shelby D. Watt, 50, city of Lodi.

• Sept. 20 9:05 p.m. – Vehicle stop on Corner Street at Elm Street. Karen R. Hafke, 43, Wisconsin Dells, was cited for speeding, 15 over the speed limit. 

• Sept. 21 11:10 a.m. – Vehicle stop on N. Main Street at Portage Street. Antonio F. Bettencourt, 40, city of Lodi, was stopped for operating a vehicle after revocation/suspension of registration and cited for operating after suspension of driver’s license.  

• Sept 21 12:23 p.m. – Vehicle stop on Canning Street at Water Street. William R. Niemi, 50, town of Lodi, was cited for speeding, 13 over the speed limit.  

• Sept. 21 4:22 p.m. – Vehicle stop on Corner Street at Elm Street. Samuel D. Emmerich, 21, Eau Claire, was cited for speeding, 15 over the speed limit. 

• Sept. 21 11:25 p.m. – Vehicle stop on Portage Street at Parr Street. Richard V. Fassbender Jr., 58, city of Lodi, received a written warning for driving with only his vehicle’s lower fog lamps lit and was cited for operating a vehicle while under the influence of an intoxicant, third offense. Fassbender Jr. was transported to Divine Savior Hospital for a blood draw and then Columbia County Jail. He is scheduled to appear in court at a later date. 

• Sept. 22 5:44 p.m. – Vehicle stop on Corner Street at Elm Street. Kathleen M. Palmer, 64, Portage, was cited for speeding, 16 over the speed limit. 

• Sept. 22 7:22 p.m. – Vehicle stop on Corner Street at Elm Street. Abrah A. Volden, 22, Mt. Horeb, was cited for speeding, 17 over the speed limit.
