The McFarland Recreation Activities & Play (MRAP) released its 2020 spring recreation guide.

Spring activities include baseball, softball, tennis instruction and cooking workshops.

Youth open gym, adult drop-in basketball and adult drop-in volleyball are offered.

The Pitch, Hit & Run competition, sponsored by Major League Baseball, is open to children ages 7-14. The free event begins 9:30 a.m. Saturday, April 18, in the A and B gyms at McFarland High School. The registration deadline is April 9 and must be done at pitchhitrun2020.league.apps.com/events/1489990.

New this season is the garden-themed Spring Sweet Treats cooking workshop for students in grades 4K-fifth grade accompanied by one adult. Safe Kids 101: Staying Safe While Home Alone is a new workshop for third through eighth graders. Preteens will learn to handle emergency situations and prepares them for staying home alone.

Register and pay online at MRAPNews.com. Students should be registered in the grade they are in for the 2019-20 school year.
