Three McFarland High School boys golfers have been recognized for their excellence in the classroom by the Golf Coaches Association of Wisconsin (GCAW).

Zach Maurer, Jake Scheffel and Semmann were selected as 2019 Academic All-State honorees for having a classroom grade point average of at least 3.25.

Recipients must be a sophomore, junior or senior and have competed in 75 percent of the team’s golf matches.

According to GCAW, 401 students from 125 high schools have been honored this year.
