Raptors’ catcher Jason Curtis gets ready to apply a tag on a Jefferson base runner. Milton would go on to lose the Generals Tournament championship game, 9-1.

The Milton Junction Pub Raptors fell short in the 38th annual Fort Atkinson Generals Tournament championship game, losing to the Jefferson Blue Devils, 9-1, on Friday night at Baseball Fest at Jones Park in Fort Atkinson.

Milton got its only run in the top of the third inning.

Down 3-0 in the third, it looked like the Raptors were ready to roar back.

With two outs and the bases loaded, Sam McCann drilled a pitch to left field, scoring one run, but McCauley Cox was thrown out at home trying to score from second.

In the bottom of the third, the Blue Devils’ Roby Schlesner hit a two-run homer to extend the Jefferson advantage to 5-1.

The Raptor bats were silenced in the final four innings, as Milton was unable to generate any runs.

Schlesner was awarded the Tournament MVP following the game.

Cox ended with one hit and a stolen base out of the leadoff spot. McCann collected a team-high two hits and drove in the only Raptor run.

Andy Haney scored Milton’s one run.

At Baseball Fest on Saturday, June 15, a pair of Milton youth baseball split two games.

The Milton Wolf Pack defeated the Fort Atkinson Thunder, 8-3. In the second youth game of the day, the Milton Red was outlasted by the Fort Atkinson Rage, 10-6.
