Koinonia (“coin-oh-knee-ah”) Singers begins its concert tour this week. The group is made up of 43 students, 16 chaperones from Milton, Janesville, Edgerton, Beloit, Elkhorn, Fort Atkinson, Lone Rock and Rice Lake.

Koinonia Singers is a ministry of Koinonia Youth Ministry (formerly Rock County Youth for Christ) in the Janesville/Milton area. Koinonia Youth Ministry has been led by Larry Schultz since 1975. He and the Koinonia Youth Ministry strive to invest in the lives of youth in the community through Koinonia Youth Group night, Bible Study night, Release Time (during the school year), Koinonia Singers, and many extra activities. “Koinonia” is the ancient Greek word for fellowship.

Each year during the last two weeks of June, Koinonia Singers goes on tour with its original production. Through an active and lively musical drama, the singers bring the Good News of Jesus to each community they enter.

Revelation 3:20 is the theme verse for this year’s show.

“Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me.” Revelation 3:20 (English Standard Version).

During this year’s show “Someone is Knocking at Your Door,” Koinonia Singers will show that Jesus really is someone that everyone can know.
