The Milton Public Library Board has named a new Library Director, Ashlee Kunkel. She will begin her new position on Sept. 21.

Kunkel replaces Lisa Brooks who is retiring in September after serving 11 years as director.

Kunkel started at the library in 2009 and was promoted to Assistant Library Director in 2015. She holds a bachelor’s degree in English from UW-Platteville, and a master’s degree in Library and Information Science from UW-Milwaukee.

“I am beyond excited to continue to be a part of this library. It’s the library I went to as a child. And a library I’ve seen grown into what it is today. I look forward to the years to come and working with the staff and community to see what else we can accomplish,” states Kunkel.

According to Library Board President Annette Smith the Library Board welcomes Kunkel’s “enthusiasm, knowledge, and vision.”

“The library is a fantastic community center and resource, and we are excited to see where Ashlee and the staff take it in the future,” says Smith.
