Sun Prairie golfers Mickey Keating and Ryan Batterman have been selected as 2019 Academic-All State honorees by the Golf Coaches Association of Wisconsin.

Students are submitted by GCAW coaches if they meet the following criteria: 1) A cumulative GPA of at least 3.25, 2) participation in at least 75% of their team’s varsity matches, and 3) are a sophomore, junior or senior. is a student-athlete who has served as a great example to others, proving that athletic and academic success are not mutually exclusive.

Both Batterman and Keating, both juniors, qualified under that criteria.

The GCAW is proud to announce that 401 students from 125 different high schools have been honored this year. In fact, the average GPA of these students is an exceptional 3.747.


Keating and Batterman both earned All-Big Eight Conference honors as well.

Keating earned second-team honors after shooting a 77 during the Big Eight Conference Meet. He went on to qualify for the WIAA State Meet where he earned the highest finish in program history, a tie for 16th place.

Batterman shot an 85 at the Big Eight Meet to earn honorable mention recognition.
