It was row or sink at the 3rd Annual Cardboard and Duct Tape Boat Regatta held at the Sun Prairie High School pool on May 17. Prairie View Middle School sixth graders researched, designed and created a cardboard boat and raced it across the pool. The boats were made with only one refrigerator box and one roll of duct tape. Mark Pankow, a Prairie View Middle School math teacher, said it was a great event to learn math, leadership, cooperation and communication skills. One student said it didn’t matter if he rowed his boat to the other end of the pool, what was more important that they had fun working together.
