Scott Johnson and Gary Praznik aim to open Water Tower Chophouse in the former Herreman’s/Harry’s space at 109 W. Main on or before Mother’s Day weekend, according to building owner and downtown developer David Baehr.
Baehr said Thursday the duo hope to embrace the look and feel of Harry’s Supper Club with different menu offerings.
Minimal work has been done to the interior of the building, Baehr said.
A liquor, wine and fermented malt beverage license request has been filed with the City of Sun Prairie.
If final city council approvals are received, an opening date could occur the day before Mother’s Day weekend, according to Baehr.
• Marco’s coming soon to Family Video. Family Video, 802 Windsor St., is already preparing for the opening of a new Marco’s Pizza inside the store. The business on Thursday began advertising a Make Room for Pizza video sale.
A store manager said the pizza franchise will be located inside the existing store space, with racks, movies and game relocated to accommodate it. The familyvideo.com website also lists Sun Prairie’s Marco’s as “opening soon.”
The pizza chain opened first in Janesville Family Video locations citing customer convenience and the potential for increased video rental business as reasons why. Other Marco’s locations are already open in Green Bay, La Crosse and Oshkosh Family Video locales.
