No primary for spring 2014 Sun Prairie elections

With the 5 p.m. Jan. 7 filing deadline in the rear view mirror, City Clerk Diane Hermann-Brown said there will not be a February 2014 primary for city elected offices.

Nor will there be any opposition on the ballot for District 1 and 2 alders Hariah Hutkowski and Jon Freund. They will run unopposed in the April spring election.

Other districts and candidates are as follows:

District 3 -- Allen Hoffmann (Incumbent) 1273 Heritage Ct; Declaration of Candidacy filed / Nomination signatures verified.

Paul (George) Frank (Challenger) 1502 Buena Vista Drive, Declaration of Candidacy filed / Signatures verified.

District 4 - (2 year term) -- Mary Polenske (Incumbent), 1809 Chadsworth Drive; Declaration of Candidacy filed / Signatures verified.

Dan Storley (Challenger) 1027 Amberson Drive; Declaration of Candidacy filed / signatures verified.

District 4 - (1 year term) -- Alan Guyant (Challenger), 1176 Virdon Drive; Declaration of Candidacy filed / Signatures verified.

Kent Orfan (Incumbent), 2580 St Alberts Drive; Declaration of Candidacy filed / Signatures verified.

Hermann-Brown said with just three candidates seeking two seats on the Sun Prairie School Board, there is also not a need for a primary in February.
