EVANSVILLE — The Waterloo McKays surrendered 16 hits to the Evansville Jays and dropped a 14-4 Home Talent Sunday League decision on June 29.
The Southeast Section loss drops the McKays record to 1-6.
Waterloo got out to a great start scoring four first-inning runs. Evansville answered with a three-run bottom of the first, then tied the score at 4-4 with a run in the third.
The Jays then scored 10 runs over the next three innings to end the nine-inning game after 6 ½ innings via the 10-run rule.
Sam Little had half of Waterloo’s hits going 2-for-3. Alex Sanzenbacher and Travis Noel had the others.
Both the June 27th game with Utica and June 28th meeting with McFarland and June
The McKays (3-8 overall) will host the Fort Atkinson Generals on the Fourth of July. The Southeast Section Sunday League game at Firemen’s Park begins at 2:30 p.m.
Waterloo then travels to Lake Mills Sunday to face the Grays in a 1 p.m. Southeast Section game.
