During the first special meeting held by the Medina Town Board Wednesday, June 5, supervisors approved bids to pave East Medina and Canal roads this year.
Scott Construction submitted a bid for $27,700 for the roadwork.
In a process called “wedging and double sealing,” the contractor will build a crown in the roadway to maximize drainage, and then seal the roadway with material which protects against moisture seeping into the road’s base structure.
A 88-by-20 foot patch of Canal Road will also be reconstructed after farm trucks broke up the road this spring.
A property owner is also sharing in the cost of that reconstruction.
The air compressor on the Marshall Safety Building housing fire and EMS services, failed last month, according to Supervisor John Hellenbrand.
Town officials approved $13,248 for Medina’s portion of costs shared with Marshall and the towns of Sun Prairie and York.
The system is estimated to cost nearly $40,000.
