River cleanup

Several area Marshall residents gathered March 24 to help clean the Maunesha River near County Highway TT. The group worked in that area all day removing blockages and the shoreline for canoeing and kayaking. From left to right were cleanup crew members Joe Greene, Ryan Frey, Matt Pitzer, Paul Wehking, Steve Falter, Jason Pitzer, and Brian Casper. Jason Pitzer and Ryan Frey worked with Steve Falter of Capitol Water Trails to organize the event. Two more cleanups are set for Saturdays, April 13 and June 29. The events start at 9 a.m. and run through 1 p.m. Those interested in helping can meet in the parking lot south of Langer Park off of Canal Road. People of all ages and skill levels are needed Lunch will be provided after the workday but a head count is needed. Email Ryan Frey at freyr33@gmail.com for more information.
