Waunakee – David L. Parker passed away peacefully with family at his side at Agrace Hospice in Fitchburg on March 1, 2015, at the age of 78. David is survived by his 4 children: Jeff (Pam) of Waunakee, Joy of Deforest, Jim (Karen) of Austin, Texas and Jay (Patti) of Madison; 8 grandchildren, Justin (Bailey), Jeremy (Elise), Janelle (Dan), Ashley (Justin), Kjersten (Jay), Michael, Suzy (Jeff) and Allie; as well as 4 great-grandchildren with one more on the way. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce and his parents.
Kathleen “Kay” A. Wipperfurth (Sweeney), (formerly known as Kippley), age 76, passed away peacefully on Sunday Feb. 22, 2015. with her family by her side.
Elizabeth “Betty” Raemisch, age 85, of Waunakee passed away peacefully in God’s arms on Sunday Feb. 8, 2015, at the Waunakee Manor Assisted Living in Waunakee. Betty was a lifelong resident of Waunakee. She was born on July 20, 1929, to Norbert and Regina (Keller) Miller. Betty and her loving husband, Bob, were united in holy matrimony on May 11, 1950, at St John’s Church, where Betty was an active member her whole life. As part of her family’s traditions, Betty worked in her parents’ grocery store learning how to deal with people and providing gracious service to customers. Betty was also great support to her husband with FH Raemisch and Sons

Deforest/ Waunakee – Donald “Donnie” Joseph Miller, age 82 passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2015, at St. Mary’s hospital surrounded by his family. He was born in Waunakee on Oct. 13, 1932, to Norbert and Regina (Keller) Miller. Donnie married his true love, Carol Buhler, on Oct. 14, 1954. He served in the army from 1952-1954. He was an active member of St. John’s Catholic Church for many years and attended St. John School as a young boy. He graduated from Waunakee High School in 1951. Donnie spent many years in the family grocery business, beginning at age 3 when he cracked nuts in his Grandpa Miller’s store. In 1988, he received the Wisconsin Grocer of the Year award. He was very active in numerous community organizations including the Waunakee Volunteer Fire Dept., American Legion, and the Rotary. Most recently, Donnie and Carol were members of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Westport. Donnie enjoyed raising his children and spoiling his grandchildren. He enjoyed traveling and attending his grandchildren’s sporting events. He was a life-long Green Bay Packers Fan and enjoyed attending games including the “Ice Bowl”.

Albert “Al” Kuehn, age 90, of Waunakee, died on Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2015, at the Waunakee Manor. He was born on Jan. 25, 1925, in the Town of Springfield to John and Appolonia (Schroeder) Kuehn. Al married Olga Bowar on May 26, 1948, and she preceded him in death in 2006. He was employed at Oscar Mayer for over 35 years and served as the Waunakee Village Assessor for 11 years. Al volunteered for 10 years with Meals on Wheels and was a member of St John the Baptist Parish for 66 years.
Catherine Magdalene (Ruppert) Kopp, age 94, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Jan. 22, 2015, at Sienna Crest Assisted Living. She was born on Aug 29, 1920, in Dodgeville to Frank and Elizabeth (Dallas) Ruppert.
Waunakee – Martha Y. Rotelli, 83, passed away peacefully on Friday, Jan. 16, 2015. She was born in McKeesport, Penn., to the late Dane and Mildred (Terbovich) Yancic. She was the devoted and loving wife of Leo A. Rotelli. They married and moved to Chicago, where Martha fell in love with "her city." She treasured Chicago, its fashion, fine dining, opera, parades and circuses alike. Martha liked to always "make memories" as she would say and to observe holiday traditions. She was the original "Martha Stewart," a talented gourmet cook, seamstress and knitter. She enjoyed politics, liked to fish and played golf so well that she even got a hole-in-one. Martha was a school board member, a den mother and everything in between. Above all though, she treasured her role as a mother, a “Granny” and a “Gum-Gum,” and made sure her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren always felt special and loved.
Waunakee – Ronald Wenzel, age 79, died peacefully Sunday, Jan. 11, 2015. He was born on Feb. 2, 1935, in Freeport, Ill., to the late Edward and Verna Wenzel. Ron graduated from Shannon High School, where he was the Valedictorian of his class. After graduation, he served in the Army and was stationed in Germany. Ron moved to Madison, Wis., after his military service, where he married Wanda Hauser. Ron worked for Consolidated Oil, where he was the district manager. After a wonderful career at Consolidated Oil, he worked at National Guardian Life Insurance Company in Madison for many years. He finally retired after working with the state of Wisconsin.
March 1, 1948 – Jan. 9, 2015 – DuWayne William Statz, 66, of Madison, passed away Friday, Jan. 9, 2015, peacefully and unexpectedly at his home from heart disease. Visitation will initially be held Tuesday, Jan. 13, from 4-7 p.m. at Winn-Cress Funeral Home 5785 Hwy Q in Waunakee, WI. Funeral services will be held Wednesday Jan. 14, 2015, at 11 a.m. at St. John’s Church 209 South St in Waunakee, WI with prior visitation starting at 10 a.m.
Madison – Theresa Stutz, age 92, passed away at home on Monday, Dec. 29, 2014. She was born on Dec. 1, 1922, in Springfield Corners, the daughter of Lawrence and Eva (Niesen) Endres. She graduated from St. John’s Catholic Union Free High School in Waunakee. She married Howard Stutz on Oct. 26, 1946.
Belva Lucille Kersten, age 95, of Wisconsin Rapids, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2014, at Wisconsin Rapids Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Waunakee – Anne C. Boruff, age 97, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 20, 2014, at Artisan Senior Living in Middleton. She was born on Aug. 13, 1917, in Panama, Illinois, the daughter of Joseph and Amelia (Bucco) Piazza. Anne was united in marriage to Charles “Ken” Boruff on September 27, 1958, in Chicago, Illinois. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, drawing and spending time with family and friends. Anne was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Waunakee.
On Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2014, we said goodbye to our loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, Thomas N. “Tom” Helt. Tom was warmly greeted by his son Danny and infant son Travis. He fought so patiently and courageously the battle of pancreatitis. Tom was born on April 18, 1939 in Ashton to William and Rose (Ripp) Helt where he grew up on the family farm playing many games of cards and baseball. He found the love of his life at a Fish Lake dance and married Marlene Haas on July 12, 1960. Once a farmer, always a farmer. Tom worked as a young man for Joe Wagner, Fuzzy Fassbender, Fuchs Trucking and in 1963 rented the Raemisch farm and purchased it in 1976. This is where Tom and Marlene farmed and raised their children to be good stewards of the land, to return to the land what you receive and instilled in them the importance of treating everyone like you would want to be treated.
Margaret Loretta Laufenberg, age 101, of Waunakee, died on Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2014, at the Waunakee Manor Health Care Center. She was born on Sept. 14, 1913, in Dane to Chris and Julia (Endres) Koch. She married Theodore Laufenberg on Oct. 22, 1935, and he preceded her in death in 1998. She was employed by the K-Mart Corp. for 22 years until retiring in 1983. Margaret was a lifelong member of St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Middleton and the Christian Mothers Society and was very active in both. She enjoyed playing cards with numerous card groups over the years, loved to crochet pot holders, and baked the best chocolate chip cookies ever!
Waunakee: Dorothy (Murray) Schmid, age 96, our mom and grandma, left us on Dec. 14, 2014, to start her new journey. She was a lady of great faith. Rita M. Endres, 92, of Waunakee passed away on Friday Dec. 12, 2014, peacefully at her home in Waunakee. Rita was born in Marxsville on Aug. 12, 1922, to Louis and Teresa (Meinholz) Meier. She married Edward Endres on Oct. 21, 1943, and he preceded her in death in 2012. As a young woman she was employed by the Aldo Leopold family and always enjoyed relating those stories to her family. Rita enjoyed gardening, traveling and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grand-children. She was a long time member of St John’s Catholic Church in Waunakee.
Irene Anna Wymore of Martinsville and Waunakee slipped softly through the veil to return to her Heavenly Father, loving family, and friends on Dec. 10, 2014, just shy of her 95th birthday, due to complications from lung cancer. Born at home on the family farm near Martinsville, Dane County, Wis., Dec. 22, 1919, she had the strong German Catholic work ethic deeply instilled in her life.
James “Jim/Franco” Endres, age 64, of Waunakee died peacefully at his home, following a 9-year battle with lymphoma cancer, surrounded by his family. He was born to Harold and Laura (Schwartz) Endres on June 6, 1950. He graduated from Waunakee High School in 1968. He married Rosemary “Rose” Acker on April 18, 1970 in Ashton. Franco worked for Yahara Materials over 32 years and was very proud of the road projects he worked on, especially Hwy 151 to Dubuque. He and his brothers were known for tackling any project. He enjoyed spending time with his grandkids and giving them rides on his golf cart. He also enjoyed cruising the country side with Rosie in his ’84 Corvette and going on “tour” in his red GMC pickup with his buddies. He was drafted to the Army 1970-1972, a member of American Legion Post 360, 1st Vice Commander, and was very involved with the Fish Fries. He was proud to help his son-in-law on their farm as well as an active contributor to the Relay for Life.
Vernon J. Ripp, age 87, of Waunakee, went to his eternal home in Heaven on Dec. 1, 2014. He was born on July 27, 1927, to James and Eleanor (Meier) Ripp. He was married to Doris Spahn on Sept. 22, 1949. Together they raised 4 children, Ron (Nancy) of Poynette, Tom of Waunakee, JeanAnn (Don) Stronach of Rio, Dan (Lori) of Waunakee; six grandchildren; Jason Ripp, Travis Stronach, Brandon (fiancée Nykole) Matthew Ripp, Michelle (Joel)Acker, Mike (Kelly Ziegler) Ripp; five great-grandchildren: Azyiah, Conor and Corwin Ripp, Brooks Acker, Kenadi Ziegler Ripp; one sister, Charlene Arnold, and many nieces and nephews and relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Dick Ripp, and a brother-in-law, Jim Arnold.
Marvin “Marv” Greiber, age 63, of Waunakee passed away peacefully on Saturday, Nov. 29, 2014, surrounded by his wife and children after a month’s diagnosis with liver cancer.
WAUNAKEE – Jerry Meyer, age 73, passed away on Monday, November 24, 2014, at his home with family. He was born on April 11, 1941, in Monroe, WI and was the son of Elaine and Clarence Wieman-Meyer. He married the love of his life, Debra “Debbie” Muir, on June 21, 1980. Together they raised their two children, Melissa and Scott. Jerry was employed at Oscar Mayer for 30 years and upon retirement, drove bus for the Waunakee School District for 35 years. He will be fondly remembered for his smile, hilarious personality, his love for his community, cruising on his Harley as “EZ Rider,” and most of all, his love for his family.
Robert B. Imhoff, age 89, of Packwaukee/Westport, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family the morning of Nov. 18, 2014. He was born in Highland, Wis., on May 13, 1925, to Ben and Lena (Munz) Imhoff. On July 21, 1948 he married Edith Urban in Madison. He was the father of Marilyn Brown, Mary Imhoff, Audrey Imhoff, Janet Imhoff, David (Lisa) Imhoff, Annette (Jim) Vanover, and Terry and Linda Caulkins. Grandfather to Vito (Caitlin) DiPiazza, Catherine DiPiazza (Jeff Boatman), Russell DiPiazza (Megan McKay), Suzanna Imhoff, Alesha Imhoff, Jessica Yittri, and Carey Nelson-Yittri; Great-grandfather to Vito DiPiazza, Dominic DiPiazza, Isaac Imhoff, and Emily Nelson. He will be missed by his brother John and many other cherished friends and family members.
John B. Davis, M.D., age 92, of Waunakee and Madison, son of Reverend D.W. and Mrs. Davis, passed away on Friday, Nov. 7, 2014. John graduated from Livingston High School in 1940. In 1941, he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps and participated in the battles of Guadalcanal, Bougainville and Guam. After Guam, he was commissioned an officer. In 1951, John married Carol Parks of Waubeka; she passed away in 2000. John attended UW Medical School in Madison and served briefly in Family Practice in Markesan. He became a Diplomat in the College of Radiology in 1963 and practiced Radiology at Dean Clinic for 18 years, retiring in 1985. His hobbies in retirement were Methodist Missionaries going on 15 mission trips, wood working, underwater photography and antique show cars where he won two Grand National Awards. John was a member of Wisconsin Council of the Blind, Blind American Veterans and the VFW.
Lujean Braunger, age 70, of Waunakee, died on Nov. 7, 2014 at Agrace Hospice Care surrounded by loved ones after a battle with brain cancer.
Mary Ellen (Nemec) Hurlebaus, 72, of Waunakee, Wis., passed away Monday, Nov. 10, 2014, peacefully at home after an 8-month battle with cancer. She was surrounded by family and had everyone together the days prior.
Edna Marie (Michels) Schara, age 98, of Waunakee, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Nov. 3, 2014. She spent this last year of her long precious life at The Artisan Assistant Living & Memory Care facility in Middleton, Wis., along with the helpful care of Hospice. Our family is extremely grateful for their kindness in keeping her comfortable to the end.
Louise C. Goeden, age 77, of Dane died Oct. 12, 2014, at Agrace HospiceCare in Fitchburg. She was born Oct. 30, 1936, to Frank and Adeline (Ripp) Ziegler. Louise married Rodney Goeden March 5, 1957, at St. Peter’s in Ashton.
Joanne Emma (Domini) Hellenbrand, age 78, of Waunakee, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2014, after a long illness. Joanne was born on July 25, 1936, the daughter of Stephen and Catherine (Schmitz) Domini. She was united in marriage to Ronald (Connie) Hellenbrand on Sept. 12, 1957, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Pine Bluff. Joanne worked for the Department of Revenue until she retired.
Rupert Dorn, OFM Cap, 90, a native of Waunakee, returned to his Heavenly Father Sept. 25, 2014. He was invested as a Capuchin Franciscan in 1943, perpetually professed in 1947, and ordained in 1951. Brother Rupert was a harbinger for the province for what Pope Francis has become for the church. He was a brother to all. He brought a fraternal bond to every assignment he had as a Capuchin friar. Whether it was provincial minister of the Capuchin Province of St. Joseph, a pastor, province secretary, prefect at St. Lawrence Seminary, local minister, or provincial councilor, he brought a leadership style that empowered others to think of and create new approaches to Religious life. He was a beloved friar.
Rachel Myra Samuelsen, age 50, of Waunakee, passed away peacefully after a long battle with Cancer on Sept. 10, 2014. Her final days were spent surrounded by family in the comfort of her home in Waunakee.
Patsy Ann Haen, age 67, of Lodi, joined her beloved Angels on Saturday, Sept. 6, 2014, at Good Samaritan Center in Lodi after a very long battle with lung disease. Pat was born in Madison on March 26, 1947, to Robert and Bertha (Ripp) Scheuerell. Pat and Bill were married on July 11, 1970, and they recently celebrated their 44th anniversary. Always the caring individual, Pat devoted her life to enriching the lives of those less fortunate. She was involved with Special Olympics and worked with people of all ages living with physical and mental disabilities.
Bernard Hugh “Bernie” Kampschroer passed away on Saturday, Aug. 30, 2014 from complications of Parkinson’s Disease. Born January 8, 1938, LaCrosse, Wisconsin to Lillian and Bernard Kampschroer. Preceded in death by parents and sister Kathleen. Marriage to Janice Engelien December 19, 1959. They have four children Gregory (Sandra), Grayson (Sara), Daniel (Chris Ann) and Jane (Alen). Eight grandchildren Quinn, Shea, Benjamin, Erika, Sydney, Addyson, Megan and Rebekah, brothers Roger (Mary) and David (Barbara), sisters Reata, Mary Lou (David) and Pamela (Mark), sister-in-law Beatrice Larson. Further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Brian A. Georgeson, age 71, of Dane, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2014, at the William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital in Madison. He was born Nov. 13, 1942, the son of Alfred and Wanda (Taylor) Georgeson.

Richard “Rich” Voss, of Middleton and Waunakee, passed away surrounded by his family on Thursday, Aug. 21, 2014, from a brief illness.
Mary Frances Avalone, nee Stevenson, born Nov. 4, 1928, entered eternal rest on Aug. 10, 2014, at age 85 after a courageous, roller coaster ride. She relocated to Waunakee, Wis., in June 2011 to be near her family. Mary derived much fulfillment during her more than 50 year membership in Girl Scouts USA. She loved crocheting, sewing, and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mary was known by many as Nana due to her big heart and patience.
Robert M. “Bob” Ziegler, age 68, of Waunakee, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 7, 2014, surrounded by his family. He was born in Madison on March 15, 1946, the son of Raymond and Marie (Endres) Ziegler. Bob graduated from Waunakee High School in 1964. He served with the U.S. Army from 1965 until 1971. He married the love of his life Linda (Adler) on Oct. 26, 1968, and was employed by Endres Manufacturing Company for 46 years. Bob was very active in the community with membership in the Waunakee Jaycees, Lions Club, FFA Alumni and Rotary. He was one of the original founding members of the Waunakee Soccer Club and was instrumental in getting boys and girls soccer into Waunakee High School. Bob was a proud member of the Waunakee Fire Department for 32 years. He enjoyed golf, boating at their lake home, all Badger sports, hunting, and volunteering at St. John’s school and church where he was a member. Most importantly, Bob loved being a grandfather and watching all of the sports in which his grandchildren were involved. He took great pride in being part of the Rotary Christmas Light display each year and hosting an annual 4th of July party at his lake home for his classmates and friends.

Barry W. Young, age 82, of Waunakee, passed away on July 19, 2014, at Agrace Hospice in Fitchburg, Wis.
Donald (Donnie) “Tic” Hewitt, age 72, died on Monday, July 28, 2014, at his home in Dane following a brief illness. He was born on the family farm in Dane on Aug. 26, 1941, to George and Mary (Pape) Hewitt. Donnie lived on the family farm for his entire life and loved farming. He enjoyed gardening, classic cars, sports and his family. He gave generously to many charities over the years. Donnie faced his illness with a steadfast determination.
Joyce Caldwell of Middleton/Sauk-Prairie began her journey to be with her Lord on Friday, July 25, 2014, after combatting Parkinson’s Disease for 25 years. Her positive outlook on life earned her many friends, and helped greatly as she strove to live life fully. While still in the experimental stage she braved having deep brain stimulators inserted to enhance her quality of life.
Cynthia Gayle Anhalt (née Marshment) of Waunakee was born on Sept. 27, 1960, to parents Philip Irwin and Bette Gayle. She spent her early years in Waukegan, Ill., before moving to a little house in Waukesha, Wis.
Christine Trotter, age 65, of Exeter, Mo., passed away Friday, June 6, 2014, at her home.
Albert R. “Punk” Deans, age 80, of Dane died on Friday June 27, 2014, at his home in Dane. He was born to Albert and Regina (Bollig) Deans on Sept. 27, 1933. He married Joan Meffert on Feb. 19, 1955, at St. John’s Catholic Church, in Waunakee Wis. They lived on the family farm for the past 59 years. He was very active in the community. Punk was on the Board of Directors for the State Bank of Lodi, the Dane Village Board and was the church Trustee for Blessed Trinity Catholic Parish. He was very active in the community and enjoyed volunteering at Blessed Trinity Parish by doing odd jobs. He was known to tour the country roads visiting area farmers and checking out the farm crops and activities. Punk loved farming and received the most enjoyment in raising tobacco with his family, nieces, nephews and any nearby neighbor or friend who wanted to help. He loved to laugh, tell jokes and work together. Of course at the end of a long day working in the tobacco field planting, cultivating, harvesting or stripping tobacco, he loved enjoying a cold beer with all.
Beatrice "Bea" Kind passed away peacefully at St. Mary's Care Center, Madison on June 25, 2014. She will forever be remembered by the joy she brought to those whose lives she touched.
Susan Alice King (nee Barc, Bialkowski), 62, of Reedsburg, was welcomed into the loving arms of her savior after living life to the fullest despite several years of poor health.
