Dear editor,

Nov. 26, is “Small Business Saturday.” While you’ve probably noticed national buzz about this event, it has a profound local impact for our Cambridge businesses. In Cambridge, “Small Business Saturday” is a reminder that we can choose as consumers to support our local shops, restaurants and businesses not only on Nov. 26, but also throughout the entire shopping season.

I encourage shoppers to be intentional with their dollars this holiday season. Merchants in Cambridge and local business owners count on support from community members. When consumer dollars stay local, it creates an amplified positive impact on our entire community. Please join me to “shop small” and support our local merchants on Nov. 26.
