Dear editor,

The Deerfield Lions Club held the third annual Chilifest community event at Fireman’s Park in Deerfield on October 8th. The day was a great success with community members, family and friends from all over Southern Wisconsin in attendance. The day included a tractor show, 13 team chili cook-off, live music, kid’s games, raffle and a wonderful array of concessions including plenty of chili!

We would like to thank all of the tractor owners, chili teams and all those who came to enjoy the perfect fall weather! The Deerfield Lions would also like to thank the Marshall and Cambridge Lions Clubs for their help and support of the event.

The event was made possible by the hard work of the Chilifest committee members. In addition, many local sponsors generously donated to allow the committee to put together a prize raffle and a great day of live music including the Mark Croft Trio, Twang Dragons and Wheelhouse! Many thanks to Badger Realty Group, Midwest Dental Deerfield, BCP Transportation, Deerfield Coffee Company, MPI, Tom Gullickson Inc., Jamie Strehlow Photography, Cardiac Science, Mobil on Main, Stoddard’s Meat Market and Catering, Deerfield Pub and Grill, The Railhouse, Truckstar, Wisconsin Built, The Turnipseed Family, Deerfield Grocery Co-op Board of Directors, Greater Insurance Service, Bank of Deerfield, B & B Home Improvement, Nelson-Young Lumber, Tips 2 Toes Salon, Middleton Jewelers, The Energy Hub, Nelson’s Barber Shop and Shave Supply, Culver’s Lake Mills, and Ideal-Pak.

The Lion’s share of the money raised by the Deerfield Lions stays within the greater Deerfield Community throug donations to local groups and organizations.

We look forward to bringing the communities together again for Chilifest 2017!
