The Cambridge Word Theater plans to meet two times a month for discussion and readings.

“In the past we have done readings anticipating a lively discussion about them afterwards. But something was missing. Now we are going to meet twice a month: once, the third Saturday of every month to discuss future projects and possible cast; second, the last Tuesday of each month at the Cambridge Library, to read what was selected for a larger audience,” said organizer John Lehman.

The planning meeting will be Saturday, Jan. 16 at 7 p.m. at the CamRock Café. The reading will be held Tuesday, Jan. 26 at 7 p.m. at the Cambridge Library.

“It should be fun,” Lehman said. “We need people but no special talent or preparation is necessary. Best of all it is Free. Free. Free.”

Lehman went on to say, “Plays in Madison and Milwaukee, even movies, have become so expensive to attend that no one remembers we can do it for free, if we keep it simple.”

Lehman launched the Cambridge Word Theater through the local Humanities Council.

“No one will get paid and no one will have to pay. This is free,” Lehman said.

Those wanting more information can call Lehman at (608) 235-2377.
