Utica home talent keeps playoff hopes alive with wins over Waterloo and Stoughton

The Utica Association was held to just three hits in a 7-0 loss to Jefferson in home talent play on Sunday, July 31 at Utica Park.

The Blue Devils (14-0) scored four runs in the top of the first inning. That was plenty of run support for starting pitcher Derek Heffel. Heffel pitched five innings, giving up one run and recording 12 strikeouts.
