Four proposed amendments to the Wisconsin Constitution, which are opposed by the League of Women Voters of Wisconsin, are likely to be on the ballot this spring.
Join the League of Women Voters of Dane County from 6:30-8 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 9, for a virtual public issues forum State Constitution: Are Changes Necessary? The implication of changes to how bail is granted, voter eligibility, election administration.
The authority of the governor will be discussed by panelists:
• Dustin Brown, senior staff attorney at the State Democracy Research Initiative, University of Wisconsin Law School;
• Jerome Dillard, executive director, and co-founder of EX-incarcerated People Organizing (EXPO)-Wisconsin; and
• Jeff Mandell, founder, president, and lead counsel at Law Forward.
The moderator for the panel discussion will be Sue Jennik, LWVDC Program Director and Board member who is also chair of the LWVWI Legislative Committee
LWV Dane County forums are free and open to the public but registration is required to participate via Zoom.
