Vote Crawford for judge

Dear editor,

On April 3, voters will elect a new Dane County circuit court judge. I strongly endorse Susan Crawford. She is an experienced, respected attorney, and is the best person for the job.

I have known Susan for 20 years. She has defended workers, public education, women's health, and voting rights in court as a lawyer with the Madison firm, Pines Bach. She has handled hundreds of cases in the state courts, including several in the Wisconsin Supreme Court.

Susan previously served as an assistant attorney general, as director of criminal appeals for the Department of Justice, and as chief legal counsel to Gov. Jim Doyle.

Susan is the only candidate with experience in Dane County courtrooms and in criminal cases. This is important, because the judge elected this spring will preside over mostly criminal cases.

Susan will treat all who appear before her with respect. She is acutely aware of disparities in the justice system and will work to address those disparities.

Susan is endorsed by Sheriff Dave Mahoney, County Executive Joe Parisi, Gov. Jim Doyle, Kathleen Falk, District Attorney Ismael Ozanne, and hundreds of other community leaders and attorneys.

Dane County judges, who know the job the best, overwhelmingly support Susan Crawford in this election.

Please vote for Susan Crawford for Dane County Judge on April 3. She has earned your vote.

Rich West,
