Early deadlines for May 30 Leader
Due to the Memorial Day holiday, without exception, deadlines for all news items, and all retail and classified advertising in The Lake Mills Leader May 30 edition will be Friday, May 24 at noon. All legal notices, official publications, minutes, agendas will be noon on Thursday, May 23.
American Legion slider stand open
The American Legion slider stand is open Fridays through Oct. 5. Sliders will be sold from approximately 10 a.m. until they are sold out. Sliders are sold only at the slider stand at our downtown park location through Town & Country Days.
Tyranena Ladies Club spring banquet May 23
The Tyranena Ladies Club’s Spring Banquet will be held on May 23 at Hering’s Sand Bar. Arrive at 5:30 p.m., dinner at 6 p.m., a meeting follows. Beneficiaries of the funds raised over the past year will be voted upon. The scholarship recipient will be announced. Info - 920-650-6061
Lakeside Lutheran Graduation to be held May 26
Lakeside Lutheran High School’s Class of 2019 will host its graduation at 2 p.m., Sunday, May 26, in the gymnasium at the high school, 231 Woodland Beach Road.
Red Cross Blood Drive May 28
Tuesday, May 28, will be the next Red Cross blood drive at the Lake Mills Community Center, 200 Water St. The hours are noon to 6 p.m. Set up an appointment at 1-800-RED-CROSS or visit redcrossblood.org. The American Red Cross is in need of Type O blood which is the universal donor and used most often.
Optimist Club to hold 20th Annual Junior Fisheree
The Lake Mills Optimist Club will hold the 20th Annual Junior Fisheree will be held June 1 at the Mill Pond from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. with registration at Fire Station. 2nd Annual Spring Splash Art Swap May 31
Don’t miss this fun event! “Spring Splash” is an annual Arts Alliance fundraising event held on Friday, May 31, at Lewis Station, 6-9 p.m. The highlight of the evening is the art swap and art raffle. Lake Mills Triathlon to be held June 2
The Janesville Subaru Lake Mills Triathlon kicks off the 2019 Wisconsin Triathlon Series at Sandy Beach Park on Sunday, June 2. The first wave begins at 7 a.m. This sprint distance race which includes a 400-meter swim, a 16-mile bike ride, and a 5K run.
Lake Mills High School Graduation to be held June 2
Lake Mills High School will hold its One Hundred and Thirty-seventh Annual Commencement Exercises on Sunday, June 2 at 1 p.m. Door will open at 11:30 a.m.
Town and Counry Days parade route application
The Town and Country Days Parade is Saturday, June 29 at 10:30 a.m. The route for the parade will be the same as last year. The lineup is on North CP Avenue. Applications for the parade and a map can be found on the Lake Mills Chamber of Commerce website firstname.lastname@example.org and at the chamber office.
Lake Mills Yoga Coop summer student program
The Lake Mills Yoga Coop announces a Summer Student Program to provide healthy activities for area youth. Used Book Sale
Used books are continuously for sale at the Lake Mills Market and the L.D. Fargo Public Library. Proceeds benefit The Friends of the Library.
Volunteers needed for city flowerbeds
The Lake Mills Parks Department is seeking individuals, families, or groups to adopt flowerbeds and shrub beds in the parks and downtown area. Volunteers also needed for one-time or short projects or taking care of a flowerbed while another volunteer is on vacation. If interested, contact Vicki Wickliffe, at 920-648-5370.
