Sept 24: The Lady L-Cats volleyball team headed to Edgewood, where the sustained a 3-1 loss.
Sept. 25: The Lake Mills volleyball team fought off some inconsistency on the court to beat Columbus 3-0 on Parents’ Night, while across the street, Lakeside put together a 3-1 win over Luther Prep.
Sept. 27: The Lake Mills boys soccer team lost a hard one against Sauk Prairie at home, falling to the Eagles 8-2. Lakeside fought to a 4-2 win over the Columbus Cardinals on the road.
The Lake Mills girls tennis team earned first place at the Edgerton quadrangular after winning four of seven championship matches.
The L-Cat girls cross country team continued an already excellent season with a third-place finish at the Mukwonago Invitational. Junior Jade Pitta led the team in with her 20:51.3 race for 21st overall.
The Lakeside Lutheran girls golf team played 18 holes at Sturtevant’s Ives Grove course for the Racine St. Catherine WIAA Division 2 regional, and had two golfers qualify for the Oct. 1 Neenah sectional at Ridgeway. Maya Heckmann and Maddison Fenner will make the trip.
Sept. 28: The L-Cats and Warriors clashed at Lakeside Lutheran, where the home team came away with a 41-13 win in the 24th-annual Slider Bowl.
Sept. 29: The Lakeside cross country team headed to Burlington for the Chocolate City Invitational, where the girls came away with a first-place finish, and the incomplete boys team saw junior August Gresens take second place overall. He was in ninth place at the mile, but managed to chip away at the people in front of him for his high finish.
