In January 2018, the Lodi Area Community Endowment (LACE) informed the greater Lodi area community that in preparation for its 10th anniversary, LACE had begun a $150,000 fundraising campaign supported by a $50,000 challenge grant from the Madison Community Foundation (MCF).

As a reminder, the LACE fundraising campaign focuses on LACE’s goal to raise $100,000 by the end of 2019. If LACE achieves its goal, the Madison Community Foundation will contribute $50,000 to the LACE coffers. Upon successful completion of the fundraising campaign, the LACE fund balance will reach approximately $400,000.00. Those funds will then be used to award grants to local non-profit organizations as they provide services to the greater Lodi community.

I am very pleased to announce that at the conclusion of 2018, through the generous donations of our existing donor base, and new donors to LACE, LACE has raised more than $60,000 toward its $100,000 goal. Because of this tremendous initial success, MCF has already donated $20,000 of its $50,000.00 match to LACE.

Because of our generous donors, LACE was able to make nine grants totaling $8,900 to various local non-profit organizations in 2018. Those organizations include Blessings in a Backpack, Bar Buddies, the City of Lodi, the Lodi Good Samaritan Society, the Ice Age Trail Alliance, the Lake Melvin Yacht Club, the Lodi Parent Teacher Organization, Reach Out Lodi and the Friends of MacKenzie Center. The Executive Board of LACE and the recipients of the LACE grants for 2018 are incredibly grateful for the generous donations from the Lodi area community donors.

During 2019, you will be hearing from LACE members often as LACE strives to raise the remaining $40,000 toward its $100,000 fundraising goal. The Executive Board of LACE thanks everyone for their past generosity and looks forward to the continued generosity of the Lodi community.
