May 8: Block Party and fundraiser
The Prairie Valley Resale Store will be hosting a Block Party from 11:30 a.m.-4 p.m. on Saturday, May 8 outside its store located at 117S. Main Street in Lodi.
The event will feature live music, food, 50/50 raffles, a bags tournament and more as funds will be raised to help Prairie Valley Resale Store continue to operate. The bands playing will be Mickey Magnum (noon-1 p.m.), Mad City Funk (1-4 p.m., and Tony Bonnano & Friends (throughout the day).
The bags tournament will feature cash prizes for first, second and third places. Call 608-698-7059 or stop by the store to register. Cost is $20 per team. Please maintain social distancing and bring your own chairs.
May 8: Glorious Garden Festival
Lodi United Methodist Church is hosting a garden festival from 8 a.m.-2 p.m., located at 130 Locust Street.
Flowers and vegetable plants will be provided by Link’s Greenhouse and Koltes Do-it Center. There will also be hand-crafted gifts and garden décor by local artists, as well as second-chance plants and flower pots.
May 11: Picnic with the Trippers Lite Band at Reach Out Lodi
Reach Out Lodi will offer a picnic-style meal at 5:30 p.m. The picnic will be followed by outdoor entertainment beginning at 6 p.m, by the Tripper Lite Band, who offer a large variety of music including gospel, old country, bluegrass and folk.

ROL is asking all those in attendance to wear a mask when not eating. All should bring their own folding chairs, too. This event is free for all who have reservations, but donations will be accepted. The rain date is scheduled for Wednesday, May 12.
May 14-15: Brat Sale
St. Patrick’s Knights of Columbus Council 6463 will have a fundraiser brat sale at the Lodi Main Street Market Piggly Wiggly from 9:30 a.m.-2 p.m. May 14-15 with brats, hotdogs, chips and soda.
May 15: Poker fun for the Food Pantry
All types of cars and bikes are encouraged to participate in a poker run to benefit the Waunakee Food Pantry sponsored by God’s Country Pontiac Association. Registration is at the Springfield Corners Park and Ride (Corner of Hwys. 12 and 19) between 9-11 a.m. Stops include Fitz’s on the Lake, Mousehouse Cheesehouse, Park’s Automotive and Rock N Wool Winery. Final stop is the Waunakee Village Park between 1-3:30 p.m. Cash prizes will be awarded to the top three hands (amount depends on number of participants so tell your friends), along with door prizes. June 5: Meat raffle
The Auxiliary of American Legion Post 271 in Poynette will be hosting a meet raffle on Saturday, June 5 at 1 p.m. Proceeds will go to benefit area veterans.
The paddle raffle will be held in the lower level of the American Legion, located at 131 W. Washington Street.
Volunteers needed for Agrace Hospice, Thrift Store, donation pickup service
Agrace is looking for volunteers to help in various ways around Dane County. Volunteers are needed for three roles — to assist customers, operate the cash register and sort donation at the Agrace Thrift Stores in Madison; to pack donated items in donors’ homes for the thrift stores’ Donation Transportation Service; and to make companionship visits to local Agrace Hospice Care patients.

Volunteer to help local hospice patients
Agrace is seeking volunteers located throughout Sauk and Columbia counties, as well as parts of Juneau, Adams and Marquette counties to make companionship visits to local hospice patients. Volunteers may be asked to read aloud to the patient, play a game, help with a hobby, provide light housekeeping, run an errand, make a snack, or simply be there as a caring presence.
Schedules are flexible, and free training is provided. No previous healthcare experience is necessary. Volunteer orientation will be in Baraboo on Tuesday, June 15 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. To register, call 608-327-7163 or go to agrace.org/volunteer.
