The Lodi Valley Chapter of the Ice Age Trail Alliance celebrated National Trails Day on Saturday. Eight volunteers at four locations gave away trail prizes and answered questions about the Ice Age Scenic Trail, as about 100 hikers took to the trails that morning. Monty the Mammoth is the Ice Age Trail Mascot. He was at the Gibraltar Rock Road Trailhead, as shown here, and also walked down Lodi’s Main Street for the event. Lodi is an Ice Age Trail Community, and the trail runs along part of Main Street. Volunteers were also out at Lodi Marsh Trailhead, Fern Glen Trailhead and Gibraltar Rock-Slack Road Trailhead.
