Incumbent Democrat Jimmy Anderson has defeated challenger Phil Anderson by a wide margin in Assembly District 47.
Jimmy Anderson won 74.9% of the vote to his Republican opponent's 25%.
"It's honestly the honor of my life to get to represent my community and I'm really looking forward to my third term," Anderson told the Herald-Independent.
Assembly District 47 covers eastern Madison, McFarland and parts of the southern Madison metro area, including Fitchburg, where Jimmy Anderson is from.
His opponent, the former chair of the Libertarian Party of Wisconsin, is also from Fitchburg.
Jimmy Anderson received just over 69% of the vote in his first general election, 2016, defeating Adam Dahl. In 2018, he ran unopposed for his spot in District 47.
In a tweet Thursday morning, Anderson thanked his supporters for their trust and said he's "looking forward to helping Wisconsin recover from COVID-19 and expand healthcare access to all."
