Several families and their furry companions were enjoying the nice weather Sunday with a trip to the Milton "Tails n Trails" dog park.
The full 16-acre park is located in the southwest area of the city near the intersection of John Paul Road and Vincent Street, and features two distinct areas: an 11-acre fenced space, complete with pond and separate one-acre enclosure meant to appeal to large dog owners, and a smaller fenced-in acreage meant to appeal to small dog owners. Both areas are available for use by any sized dog.
The property also features a paved parking area. The park is one of several across the city that is being assessed for improvements as part of the city's efforts to create a Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation Plan (CORP). The CORP outlines future plans for citywide parks and is a necessary step to allow the city to apply for DNR grants available for park improvements.
On Sunday, families, visitors and dogs interacted together in the small dog enclosure. Following are some photos from the day.
