A Veterans Memorial Ceremony and Veterans Park Pavilion Dedication were held July 5 in Veterans Park. Some 150 event-goers and program participants arrived to remember and celebrate. The memorial ceremony included much of the program that would have been presented on Memorial Day, but was rescheduled due to COVID-19 precautions, event planners said. A similar veterans memorial event also took place in Milton Junction Cemetery on July 5.

Groundbreaking for the new park pavilion, pavilion volunteer committee member Dick Fry said, had been started exactly one year earlier. During the dedication ceremony, a ceremonial key was presented by the committee to city officials, making the pavilion officially public property.
