Sun Prairie Media Center Executive Director Jeff Robbins describes the new radio studio construction project for SPMC's community radio station, 103.5 FM The Sun, during the March 3, 2020 Sun Prairie City Council meeting -- much to the chagrin of District 4 Alder Al Guyant, who questions how many people are actually watching shows on SPMC or listening to The Sun. The bid for the studio was approved by the council, but with a no vote from Guyant. Video by Chris Mertes.

A huge thank you to the City council for the majority approval of the studio construction. The Sun Prairie Media Center is such a vital tool in our community and we are blessed to have this organization. I am concerned about the NO vote by Alder Guyant, and hope he would make time in his schedule to visit the media center, see what is on going, and talk to the volunteers about the effects the TV and radio shows have in our community. I am proud to be a volunteer DJ and host The Sun Prairie Real Estate Show each Wednesday. I witness each and every day the results of broadcasting a show that informs and educates SP resident on the Buying, Selling, or Investing of real estate. I am routinely approached at local restaurants or coffee shops and thanked for the information presented. I have been told of how the show helped a For Sale By Owner, set the pricing to sell. I have been thanked for teaching why everyone buying a property should have a Buyer Agent. Most recently, a SP resident selling their house was not pleased with the Real Estate Agent and lack of service. She wanted to make a change, but believed she was "Stuck" in a contract. What she found by listening to the show, was a means to address her situation in her favor.

I would ask Alder Guyant to stay in curiosity and listen to what the residents of Sun Prairie are saying..........even on KSUN, Kids4, and 103.5fm.
