Due to COVID-19 and the inability to host an in-person event, Sun Prairie Area School District held a small, socially distanced, groundbreaking for Sun Prairie West High School. Construction at the site officially began last week, and the SPASD wanted the community to be part of this milestone, even if it was virtually. The groundbreaking included a very small group of people that kept social distancing in mind. Attendees included: Superintendent Brad Saron, School Board President Steve Schroeder, Lisa Goldsberry, the liaison to the School Board for the Secondary School Space Planning Committee, and Jeff Tubbs Findorff Vice President. A community celebration will be scheduled in the future when it is safe to do so. The community can follow along with the construction progress by visiting www.sunprairieschools.org/ref2019 .
