Conversations around the construction of a new $15.5 million public safety center in Monona have started back up again after going quiet since February 2020. The city's police and fire departments say more space and newer technology is a must.
The new public safety center in McFarland will be the first environmentally sustainable building of its kind in Wisconsin, according to village officials and architects on the project. The price tag for the build is up by more than $2 million from an initial estimated cost of $16.9 million to a now projected $19.1 million.
More information has been released regarding the $18.7 million Public Safety Center planned to open next summer in McFarland.
