Waterloo High School recognized local veterans from the area last Thursday for Veterans Day. The Patriots Club had a ceremony of flags, which was followed by several other school organizations taking part. The choir sang the national anthem and did a patriotic medley. The band also performed the American Anthme by Gene Scheer. Quinnly Hush gave a welcome, and she was followed by Sophia Schneider giving a speech on behalf of the Patriots Club and Brooke Lauersdorf who spoke of an unknown soldier. Emerson Setz gave a speech on the Arlington National Cemetery. Veteran Glenn Soldner of Reeseville (bottom right) was a guest speaker and spoke of the sacrifices made by veterans. He also prompted the audience to applaud the Patriots Club for all the hard work it does, including helping organize the Veterans Day event.
