Patriot's Club in Madison

The Waterloo High School Patriots Club took a field trip to the Wisconsin Veterans and Historical museums in Madison Nov. 18, and made a brief stop at the Capitol. “It was very informative and a lot of fun,” said Rachel Holden, advisor for the club. At the Veterans Museum, the club learned a lot about the Civil War, particularly how Wisconsinites served. Tour guides explained tactics and weapons used in World War I and how they changed in World War II. They also explained the importance of helicopters in Vietnam. Students also saw a variety of artifacts from U.S. historical conflicts, as well as dioramas depicting the Battle of Antietam and the Battle of the Bulge. The trip was made possible via a donation from the Waterloo American Legion.
