The Jefferson County Health Department and the Wisconsin Department of Health Services announced May 31 that they support the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s recommendation of booster doses for those aged 5-11.

The booster dose is to be administered five months after the primary COVID-19 vaccination series. The recommendation opens the door for anyone 5 years and older to receive a booster dose. The CDC also recommended a second booster shot for those 12 and older who are immunocompromised and anyone older than 50.
