Waterloo softball claims regional title

The 2023 postseason has been all about redemption for the Waterloo softball program. The Pirates let go of their vice grip on the Capitol — South conference this season, suffering a trio of losses to settle for second place. Furthermore, they seemed destined for a similar exit from the WIAA state tournament following the regular season.

Waterloo had its season ended by Horicon last season in the regional final as the Marshladies made a march all the way to the Division 4 state finals game. As luck would have it, the Pirates got another shot at them in this season’s regional final at Horicon on Thursday, May 25.
