Jan. 18: MLK Day volunteer effort
In honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, the community can support local families in need by donating to the local Waunakee Neighborhood Connection organization (WNC). Many of our neighbors affected by the COVID-19 pandemic are facing crises which have increased demands for WNC’s free need-based programs and services. To donate go to https://waunakeeneighborhoodconnection.org/index.php/support or call (608) 849-5740. Consider funding the Neighbor to Neighbor Crisis Fund which provides direct financial assistance to help families experiencing unexpected crises. Or the general Pulse Fund that supports community and educational programs, upkeep and utilities, store merchandise and supplies.
Household and personal items can also be dropped at WNC’s location, 208 S. Century Ave, Waunakee, WI 53597 on Monday, Wednesday, Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Visit the website for a list of items needed. This fundraising drive is sponsored by the Grassroots Organization of Waunakee group, GROW at https://grassrootswaunakee.org.
