Waunakee High School students joined the village's parks and public works staff Thursday morning to make the village a little more welcoming to migratory birds.

As part of the Bird City USA program, Waunakee celebrates World Migration Bird Day around the second week of May with a project to support its efforts, Jeff Karls, Waunakee Public Works/Parks crew leader explained. Bird City USA promotes improving and protecting habitat and resources for migratory birds.
