The Ice Age Nordic ski teams traveled to the Hodag Challenge for a weekend of challenging racing at the World Class ski trails in Rhinelander. Over 250 skiers and 20 teams skied a 5k classical race on Saturday followed by a 5k skate pursuit race on Sunday. The Ice Age girls finished 10th overall with the boys placing 15th.

In the girls races, freshman Emily Berger finished 14th on Saturday and 16th on Sunday, followed by Carla Schwitters 45th overall and Audrey Bakken 49th. “As a prelude to the state meet, these races really prepare you for the rigorous racing ahead. The best skiers in the state were here today,” comments Coach Dale Fanney.
